HOME - COURSES - CUSTODY SUITE OFFICER
Custody Suite Officer
This course was designed around the experience gained whilst working in a Major City Casualty Department and from discussion within various Police Forces it has been specifically tailored for dealing with the types of injuries or illnesses encountered within the custody area. Ideally run over two or three days which allows time for realistic scenarios to be played out.
This course equates to the N.P.I. A Module 3 but can easily be adapted should the Faculty of Pre Hospital Care and the N.P.I.A reassess the need in the ongoing development of First Aid within the Police Force.
The following issues would be dealt with during this course.
• Alcohol and drugs related problems.
• Diabetes, signs symptoms and treatment. (possibility of confusion with drunk or drugged casualty)
• Epilepsy
• Airway problems including choking.
• Management of unconscious Person
• CPR
• Unconscious person
(Recovery position)
• Head Injuries
• Heart attack and angina, how to recognise and treat them.
• Asthma and Hyper ventilation (panic attacks). Knowing the difference
• Bleeding external and internal
• Fracture management.
• Monitoring of vital signs.
COSTS:
£500 (ex vat) per person (Open Course - Held at our training centres or the customers training premises)
