Fire Service Team Medic
Fire fighter Team Medic Course
This course has been specifically designed to ensure the fire fighter has all the skills and confidence to carry out life saving first aid whilst at the same time remaining effective in the his or her primary role of fire fighting,
In researching for the contents of this course we have looked at the many roles of a fire fighter in today’s service and the potential medical problems arising from these roles, these roles include:
• Water rescue
• USAR.
• Road Traffic Collisions.
• Woodland/moorland fires.
• Chemical Hazards.
• Working in confined areas.
• Working with ropes at height.
Besides covering problems associated with the above we will also cover all types of trauma and the major life threatening illnesses such as Heart attacks, Angina, Diabetes, Asthma the fire fighter may encounter in his day to day routine.
Course length - 5 Days
SYLLABUS:
The Pre Hospital Environment, Triage & Safety, Patient Examination, Basic Life Support, Intermediate airway management, Paediatric Life Support, Haemorrhage Management (Tourniquets, Haemostatic controls e.g. Quickclot), Medical Emergencies, Shock Management, Trauma Emergencies, Crush Injuries, Airway Management, Use of Defibrillation, Ballistic Trauma, Chest Trauma, Emergency Extraction, Hot and Cold injuries, Crush injuries, Assisting the Paramedic, Environmental Factors, Paediatric emergencies, Road Traffic Collision Management.

Level 3 QCA VRQ Diploma for Security Industry First Aid Team Leader (TEAM MEDIC ) HSE First Aid at Work
IHCD Royal College of Surgeons First Person on Scene Intermediate Award
COSTS:
£500 (ex vat) per person (Open Course)
£3750 (ex Vat) Group up to 12 (Held at our training centres or the customers training premises)

This course was designed by a team of experienced Special Forces Patrol Medic's, Firefighters, Medical Specialists & Teachers. The course is instilled with medical training together with your fire service protocols. Each course is tailored around the needs of your service. This course was written from experience, not from skills learned in a manual. This course exceeds the expected future standards of first aid training and also contributes to each officers own Continual Personal Development
VENUES:
This course can be delivered at the Crown Training Academy but we feel it is best delivered on your own training grounds.
